I Love Running!
Completed Week 2, Day 1 this morning. I'm afraid either my form is off or I'm not doing enough stretching. It's been at least eight hours and my left shin is burning a bit. Going to do so more icing and stretching. Hopefully I can move on to Day 2 on Tuesday.

I Love Swimming!
Today was my last swim lesson. I wasn't feel so great about it because I haven't progressed as much as I thought. I almost skipped my last lesson because I didn't feel like being disappointed. Well, guess what? I had a great lesson. I was so pleased with how things went.
I am constantly reminded about how my thoughts limit my ability to achieve my goals. I have to keep practicing mindfulness and my swimming.

Midyear Review
Wow! Time is flying by. Half the year has passed and I have to admit I am not happy with where I am with my goals. I only have one word to describe how I have worked toward my goals so far this year: inconsistency. I only have one word to describe how I need to work toward my goals for the remaining of the year: consistency.
This morning I finished the first week in the Couch to 5K. I love my new sneakers. I did experience some pain in my right knee today. I think it is because I rushed through my post workout stretching because I had to get to work for a meeting. I then sat most of the day. One of the advantages of working from home 99% of the time is that I can stretch whenever I want.
For my running goals this is what I plan to do for the remaining of the year.
1. Finish the Couch to 5 K plan.
2. Run a 5K race September – December.
I plan to keep working on my swimming goal at least twice a week.
I also need to complete strength training at least twice a week.
There’s so much I want to do. I miss Spin class and hiking. I get in some of this activity here and there.

New Kicks!
I went back to Big Peach Running to be fitted for shoes again. Long story short, the guy who helped me thinks I should try a stability shoe. I’ve been walking and running in neutral shoe. I keep having issues with my knee. Anyhow, today I tried out my new kicks and they felt great!
I decided to start with Week One using my Coach to 5K app thinking it would be a breeze. The second half was pretty challenging. I really need to make sure I make running a regular part of my fitness routine.
I’ve set a goal of being able to complete a 5K running nonstop in September. I’m going to make sure I train on hills this time. Over half the year has passed and I haven’t done well with my fitness goals. I need to step up my game!

Oops! I forgot to mention that my new shoes are Nike Zoom Structure+ 16. I was having a hard time choosing between this shoe and the Saucony Omni 12. In fact, I think I'm going to go back and get the Sauconys.

Sick Days: 30 Days of Yoga
Well, my 30 Days of Yoga turned into sick days. I guess it was to be expected. In addition to doing yoga, I was drinking 2 liters of lemon water a day. With my meditation practice, along with swimming almost every day, me thinks all that detoxing put my body into overload.
It was pretty bad. I called in sick for the first time this year and slept for a day and a half. All I’ve been sleeping and drinking tea. I went to swim class on Saturday. Yesterday I went to water aerobics so I think today I’m going to get back to my yoga challenge today. I really want to get my flexibility and core strength in gear so I can get back to running, probably next month.
